America's #1 Choice in Salt- Free Water Conditioning

Traditional salt-based water softeners remove the minerals that make water hard, mainly calcium and magnesium. The GreenWave on the other hand neutralizes these minerals, preventing them from adhering to surfaces, this effectively prevents the negative effects associated with hard water. This is the perfect system for those who live in an area where water softeners are banned or even those who are tired of dealing with the hassle of adding salt. This is a system that will exceed your expectations

  • Removes the existing scale in plumbing
  • The catalytic process converts Calcium and Magnesium into harmless microcrystals
  • Doesn't use electricity
  • Maintenance-free
  • Zero water waste
  • Prevents scale INSIDE the plumbing
  • Very easy to install
  • Provides the best quality healthy water without the addition of Sodium or Phosphates

  • How it Works

The GreenWave 2.0 utilizes Next Scale Stop media by Next Filtration. The Next Scale Stop NSS Media utilizes a process called Template Assisted Crystallization or "TAC" for short.

As the hard water passes through a pressure vessel (in the upflow configuration) the calcium bicarbonate Ca(HCO3)2 is transformed into the aragonite form of calcium carbonate CaCO3 crystals. These crystals are formed through decomposition and crystallization process, forming very stable harmless crystals.

The following equation describes the reaction that occurs inside the pressure vessel when flow over grains of nucleation.

    Ca(HCO3)2 → CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O

Most companies do not tell you how much Anti-Scale Media is inside their tanks. However, if you check, you will find out that it is generally about half of what we use. Ours is engineered to be long-lasting and more efficient, typically lasting 4-6 years.

NOTE: If you are on a private well, you will need to pre-treat and filter out iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, copper or other contaminants that could foul the media.

Greenwave

"Works as advertised"

Stephen J. (5/5)

In the photo you can

"In the photo you can see the 100 micron Sediment trap, Then the 5 micron filter and next to that a carbon filter. Then the GreenWave. This is the best improvement I have done to this property in 30 years of living here. The entire system has been installed about 4 months and it is operating perfectly. . I am well pleased with US Water Systems."

Building Pump House

"Excellent customer service in determining filtering requirements based on well water report. Still building pump house and will submit a full review once installed and filtering."

Pre-sales questions answered timely and expertly

"Just got off the phone talking with their sales manager about buying a TAC system or possibly an RO system. Very knowledgeable, answered my many questions and if I decide to go ahead with this technology they are the company I am going with. Thanks again."

Great product and Initially Great Results

"Ordered the salt-free system with the carbon pre-filter, been in operation for a week and hard water already clearing up on surfaces and in pipes. System is looking great!"

Eden D. (5/5)

Better than I expected

"I didn't really know what to expect from this system, I recently moved to an area of California where water softeners are banned. I've had a water softener at every house I've owned prior to this move, so I have to say this system performs better than I was expecting."

Q&A

How much media do you use? I just read on your description that "most companies do not tell you how much Anti-Scale Media is inside their tanks. However, if you check, you will find out that it is generally about half of what we use" but then, as far as I can tell, you also do not tell us how much Anti-Scale Media you do in fact use! :)
Great question — the amount of media varies by the size of the system, so there is not one single number that applies to every GreenWave model. The best thing to do is call and speak with one of our Water Specialists, and we can tell you exactly how much media is in the specific size you are looking at.
I have hard water from a private well: 135 ppm. Is the green wave salt free alternative a good option to reduce scale build up? Can you drink the water treated with a green wave system?
GreenWave can be a good option if your goal is to help reduce scale buildup from moderately hard water like 135 ppm. It is a salt-free conditioner, so it does not remove hardness minerals like a traditional water softener. Instead, it changes the way those minerals behave so they are less likely to stick to plumbing fixtures, water heaters, and other surfaces as scale. Yes, the treated water is safe to drink. Because it is salt-free, it does not add sodium to the water. If your main goal is true soft water and complete hardness removal, a conventional softener would be the better option. Also, on private well water, any iron, manganese, sulfur, or similar contaminants should be treated ahead of the GreenWave so the media does not become fouled
How many gallons on average does the system filter? Do not say 4-6 years, we need to know the average lifespan in gallons.
The GreenWave isn’t actually a filter and it isn’t rated in gallons the same way a carbon or sediment cartridge is. It uses a special TAC (Template Assisted Crystallization) media that changes the form of hardness minerals so they don’t stick to pipes and fixtures, but it does not remove them from the water. Because of that: It does not filter out chlorine, tastes/odors, sediment, or other contaminants. It does not lower TDS or soften the water in the traditional sense – the minerals are still there, just conditioned so they don’t form hard scale. Any “lifespan” in gallons is an estimate of how long the media will effectively condition the water for scale control, not how many gallons it “filters.” That said, in typical municipal water conditions that are within the GreenWave’s limits for chlorine, iron, manganese, copper, and pH, systems using this type of TAC/Next ScaleStop media generally treat on the order of 500,000–600,000 gallons of water before the media needs to be replaced.
The only problem I have with my well water is the high magnesium and calcium content, that are off the char ! Would this fix my problem? And how long does it keep the minerals suspended in the water? And would it protect my new water heater ?
We recommend contacting one of our trained water specialist @ 800-608-8792 to share your test results and discuss your best options.
After the 4 to 6 years of use is their an indicator that advises the media is spent? Can the unit be reloaded with new media, or does the entire unit need replacing?
The GreenWave system does not feature an automatic indicator to signal when the media is exhausted. However, there are observable signs that suggest it's time to replace the media: Reduced Scale Prevention: If you notice an increase in scale buildup on fixtures or appliances, it may indicate that the media is no longer effectively conditioning the water. Changes in Water Quality: A noticeable change in water taste or clarity could suggest the media's effectiveness has diminished. You do not need to replace the entire GreenWave unit when the media is spent. US Water Systems offers rebed kits specifically designed for this purpose. These kits include the necessary amount of Filtersorb SP3 media, a funnel, distributor tube cap, and silicone lubricant.
