Applications for Eliminating Rotten Egg Smell

Oxidation: Normal procedure for oxidizing a water supply and removing the rotten egg smell is usually specified by the chemical feed pump manufacturer or supplier and depends on water conditions. There are many types, designs and methods of introducing hydrogen peroxide to the water supply. A normal method is to inject directly into the water line with the use of a chemical feed pump. Dosage rates will vary. If unsure consult owner's manual. Dosage: Proper dosage rates will vary depending on application. For oxidation of impurities, feed WaterLogix Hydrogen Peroxide until there are very few oxygen bubbles in treated water.

UPDATE:

WaterLogix Hydrogen Peroixde Proven to Consistently Hold Strength at Elevated Temperatures Compared to Hydrogen Peroxide 7%

Aug 4, 2011

With nearly 23 million homes in the United States using well water as their primary drinking water source, the potential for unsatisfactory water due to odors, discoloration, and/or corrosion or scaling caused by bacteria and contaminants is of a large magnitude. However, these problems are not limited to well water; there may also be a need to condition municipal water using the same point-of-use/point-of entry treatment method.

US Water Systems put Waterlogix Hydrogen Peroxide to the test against hydrogen peroxide 7% at an independent 3rd party laboratory in a controlled environment and the results are astonishing. Initial active hydrogen peroxide readings before testing were:

  • WaterLogix Hydrogen Peroxide – 7.19%
  • Hydrogen Peroxide 7% - 7.27%

At 72°F after 8 weeks

  • WaterLogix measured 7.07% active hydrogen peroxide
  • Hydrogen Peroxide 7% measured 5.83% active hydrogen peroxide

At 100°F after 8 weeks

  • WaterLogix measured 7.11% active hydrogen peroxide
  • Hydrogen Peroxide 7% measured 3.37% active hydrogen peroxide

While the results are shocking, the reasoning is relatively simple. WaterLogix contains proprietary stabilizers that prevent gassing and loss of efficacy. This is why at two months after manufacturing (when you likely receive the product) hydrogen peroxide 7% is only 3% active while US Water Systems WaterLogix Hydrogen Peroxide remains at full efficacy. There is no need to speculate your dosage and you can feel safe using a product you trust.

If you need this for

"If you need this for iron and sulfur eradication then get it on subscription. Can’t go wrong. Very happy to have it on hand and not run out. Jugs are heavy duty so there is always that second use for them afterwards also. Plus they tape the cap shut so it doesn’t leak in transit. What else could you ask for."

WATERLOGIX HYDROGEN PEROXIDE Review

"I’ve been extremely impressed with the WaterLogix 7% Hydrogen Peroxide solution. We were dealing with a strong rotten egg smell in our well water along with iron staining and occasional discoloration, and this product made a noticeable difference within a very short time. The water now smells clean, tastes much better, and the orange staining around sinks and fixtures has significantly improved. I also appreciate that this is a professional-grade formula and NSF certified for drinking water applications, which gave me confidence using it in our system. The packaging was solid and convenient with the two 2. 5-gallon bottles, and it worked perfectly with our chemical feed pump setup. After dialing in the dosage, the oxidation process worked exactly as described with consistent results. What stood out most is how effective it has been at controlling sulfur odor without causing any harsh chemical smell. Our water quality feels dramatically improved overall. If you are fighting rotten egg odors, iron, manganese, or discoloration issues in well water, I highly recommend giving WaterLogix Hydrogen Peroxide a try."

The best system!!!!

"We used salt softeners for 30 years but our well water changed and had more iron and iron bacteria with the sulfur smell. We took a chance on this system, we wished we would have found it years ago. Our water is amazing, no smell, soft and completely iron free, no more orange!!! Thank you for a great product."

peroxide

"Peroxide came in a timely manner and has been easy to put into the containers. Ordering in larger qualities for a better price is greatly appreciated. Found out it doesn’t have a shelf life of more than a year so that was good information to have."

More expensive but does not

"More expensive but does not degrade like the cheaper stuff. Well worth the money!"

Best Hydrogen Peroxide

"This stabilized hydrogen peroxide is fantastic. It just works. We had excessively high iron content in the water and this along with our Penguin Water system has completely eliminated the problem. Worth every penny."

Q&A

How long does a bottle of your hydrogen peroxide stay at the designated strength while in storage? I want to know for storage purposes.
Great question! OxiPro-7 is a stabilized hydrogen peroxide formula, which means it holds its 7% strength significantly longer than standard hydrogen peroxide. When stored properly — sealed, upright, in a cool location away from heat and direct light — you can expect the product to maintain its rated strength for approximately 1 year from the manufacture date on the bottle. Once opened or added to a solution tank, we recommend using it within 60–90 days for best performance. Always check that your storage area stays cool, as elevated temperatures are the primary driver of potency loss.
