"It is an adapter, what more could be said other than it should have been part of the filter packet. On the day I broke it trying to put it in, the service guy said he just finished selling one to another customer who also broke his by over tightening it. Why it is not sent installed already is beside me."

"Might want to have an extra fitting on hand when replacing filters. This fitting broke on us during the re-install process and local hardware stores did not stock. Better to have an extra fitting than to need one in a pinch! We are very pleased with our 6-Stage RO system."
