COMMERCIAL WATER SOFTENERS
A wide variety of businesses, retail establishments, and schools use a commercial softener and filter system. Other types of commercial and industrial businesses that can benefit from water softeners for the treatment of hard water systems include:
Health Clubs and Spas
Restaurants & Hospitality
Apartments & Condos
Factories, Office Buildings, & Shopping Centers
Car Washes
Laundries & Dry Cleaners
Hotels & Motels
Hospitals, Nursing Homes & Healthcare
Here is the HARD TRUTH
Hardness, along with other undesirable minerals in the water, cost businesses millions of dollars annually in plumbing repairs, energy consumption, premature replacement of equipment, fixtures, and linens.
With US Water Systems commercial water softeners, you’ll save on energy, equipment, plumbing repairs, and general maintenance. You can extend the life of equipment, fixtures, and linens, while saving on chemicals and detergents, not to mention added benefits of cleaner glassware, softer towels, and better-tasting beverages.
If you are looking for a premium quality commercial water softener, one that is built to last and backed with the best warranty in the business, YOU HAVE FOUND IT! Getting a water softener from US Water Systems is dramatically different than getting one from a low-budget internet guy who works out of his garage. Here’s why:
We use only the highest quality parts, tanks, distributors, and resin, backing our systems with the best warranty in the business. There are many ways to make a water softener cheaper, but we refuse to cut corners! We also offer technical support and installation help from Certified Water Specialists.
You too can reduce your business’ operational costs by reducing the hard water scale, which protects the plumbing system, fixtures, and equipment from unnecessary wear and, therefore, from premature maintenance/replacement. Virtually all commercial, industrial or institutional buildings can benefit from water softening systems, including schools, health clubs, restaurants, apartment/condominium buildings, hospitals/medical buildings, office buildings, car washes, laundries, nursing homes, hotels/motels, and factories, just to mention a few.
US Water Systems water softener application engineers have well over 200 years of experience in engineering, designing, and manufacturing commercial water softeners. A small fraction of the water softener systems we manufacture and sell are packages located here, simply because there is an endless combination of options, such as the number of tanks, types of controls, types of pistons, flow rates, and a plethora of configurations.
Custom Solutions - We have a number of our most popular water softener packages on this website but by no means is the list inclusive. Many of our systems are custom-designed to the exact specifications of architects, engineers, as well our customers. One of the things that make us different is our History of Excellence in Engineering, Designing, and Manufacturing of packaged as well as custom water softener systems. We do not try and sell you a “cookie-cutter” solution. You probably don’t have a “cookie-cutter” business, unless you really are in the “cookie” business and if you are, we do have a solution for you.
How We Excel - We have two ears and one mouth and have learned to ask lots of questions so that we can engineer the exact solution you need for your application. When designing a water softening system, here’s what we need to know:
· We need a well-detailed laboratory water analysis (not just the hardness level, but the pH, TDS, Alkalinity, Cations, Anions, and several other parameters.
· We need to know what the desired water quality needs to be – Does it need to be less than 1 gpg or less than 1 mg/l? There is a big difference in the level of water quality between the two measurements.
· We need to know what the water will be used for. The odds are we have experience in that application.
· We need to know what the maximum gallons per day (gpd) will be? Of course, average usage is important as well, but a system needs to be engineered to the maximum gallons per day.
· We need to know what the maximum gallons per minute (GPM) will be? Of course, average usage is important as well, but a system needs to be engineered to the maximum gallons per minute. It is also important to know the minimum flow rate.
· We need to know if you have any idea or data that shows how many gallons are used per week and/or per month. This is just more information that can help us engineer the appropriate system.
· We need to know the hours water is used. Is this a 24- hour operation? 12 hours… or less?
· We need to know how much space is available. Floor space is important, but we also need to know doorway sizes and ceiling height.
· We need to know what the pipe size will be. Also, we need to know if there are any pressure issues and water the water main is made of (copper, galvanized, PVC, etc.), and if the incoming line is larger than the pipe size for the system.
· We need to know if the system needs to be expandable. Are there any expansion plans in the future, so that we might need to build in modularity?
Once we have this critical information, an application engineer will be assigned to your job and he will calculate flow rates, cubic feet of resin needed, type of resin needed, bed depth, bed velocity, valve, and pipe sizing, number of tanks needed, and size, brine tanks needed and size, or a bulk brine system, brine “make up time” and many other variables.
Salt Efficiency - All of our systems are designed to be as efficient on salt as possible. Therefore, sizing is indeed critical. Proper sizing maximizes the efficiency and reliability of the system as well as dramatically increases the water softener system lifespan.
System Applications - Our water softener systems come in Simplex, Duplex, Triplex, Quadraplex, Fiveplex… all the way up to Twelveplex (if that is even a word). While we specialize in fiberglass pressure vessels, we also have steel and epoxy-coated steel available, as well as ASTM-Rated tanks.
Tank Sizes – The most popular tank sizes are as follows:
· 13 x 54
· 14 x 65
· 16 x 65
· 18 x 65
· 21 x 62
· 24 x 72
· 30 x 72
· 36 x 72
· 42 x 72
· 48 x 72
· … and many other custom sizes
Pipe sizes – Our packaged systems are 1 inch, 1.5 inches, 2 inches, and 3 inches, but we can manifold any pipe sizes and have face piping up to 12 inches in diameter. We also provide softening systems on skids as well as backwashing filters, deionization, and reverse osmosis systems.
Configurations – Most of our systems run in parallel, and we also offer “progressive flow” which is where, during low flow periods, maybe only one or two water softeners are online, but as the flow rate increases, more tanks come online to handle the flow. It goes without saying that most of our systems are controlled by meters, but there are other ways to initiate regeneration, depending upon the application.
Complete Water Management Systems – Our newest and most reliable systems incorporate Bluetooth or WiFi “Matrixx Drop Technology”, which is a total water management system. It allows t=you to monitor instantaneous flow and capacity remaining as well as peak GPM, historical gallons used, and even performs a “leak test to determine if any toilets or faucets are leaking. Additionally, it can be monitored remotely to know when salt needs to be added. It also has the ability to shut off the system remotely, and shut down the system should water be detected anywhere (up to 32 leak detectors).
Saves up to 40% in Additional Piping & Wiring - Unlike Clack or Fleck commercial water softeners which may require external “MAV” Valves and Piping and/or extensive interconnect wiring and external meters, the DROP Technology requires, NO Mav Valves, NO External Meters, NO External Controllers, and NO Interconnect Cables. The “Bluetooth” or “WiFi” controllers eliminate all of that and dramatically saves man-hours, wiring, and additional piping.
Commercial Water Softeners With Drop Technology Advantages:
· System is naturally synchronized.
· All setup and configuration are done through the Drop app – no climbing ladders to tweak settings.
· Drop app centralizes all settings and minimizes the number of settings that need programmed.
· DROP operates on a reliable local proprietary wireless network that does not depend on any other infrastructure other than being powered.
· WiFi connection to the hub is not required to operate, giving resilience, but it brings additional monitoring, maintenance, and management features.
· App allows users to remotely monitor water usage.
· App sends notices of abnormal water usage, needing to add salt and if there is a problem, YOU WILL KNOW IT!
· Provides remote diagnostics assistance.
