Q&A

IS THIS NSF 61 CERTIFIED ?
The filter itself does not but the calcite used is certified to NSF/ANSI 60
Does this make the RO water safe to use on a copper pipe system? And I noticed it the filter said about 24,000 gallons but just was curious if usage was only 200 gallons a month could it possibly last 10 years or does it go bad after a certain amount of time?
The All American Commercial Remineralization Filter is designed to add minerals back to the water, which makes RO water safer for use with copper pipes, as it helps to stabilize the pH and reduce the corrosive potential of demineralized water. However, this does not necessarily stop all forms of corrosion, particularly if other factors are involved. As for the lifespan of the filter, it typically depends on usage and water quality, not just the total volume of water that can be processed. While it is rated for 24,000 gallons, using only 200 gallons a month theoretically extends its functional period. However, it's important to consider that the filter media may degrade or become less effective over time due to factors like bacterial growth or chemical degradation, even if not fully used up by volume.
how long does this filter typically last before needing to be replaced.
The All American Commercial Remineralization Filter by US Water Systems is designed to enhance water quality by adding essential minerals back into the water supply. The lifespan of this filter depends on several factors, including water usage, water quality, and system configuration. Given that remineralization filters serve a specific function, their replacement schedule may differ from standard filters. It's essential to monitor the system's performance and water quality regularly. Indicators that the filter may need replacement include a noticeable change in water taste, a decrease in water flow rate, or a drop in mineral levels in the treated water.
