The Bodyguard Plus Chemical Filtration System incorporates the professional-grade Interceptor Filter as an optional disinfection upgrade. This system utilizes our proprietary smart valve technology with backwashing and is designed with a downflow configuration. The Bodyguard plus contains 35% more media than the original Bodyguard.

Stage 2 Inside is another layer of pleated material manufactured with a Zeta potential of 51 millivolts. Contaminants, like Chromium 6, lead, bacteria, virus, cysts, and heavy metals are actually "magnetically" removed from the water supply and "secured" in the Charged Sub-Micron Filter. It has passed testing for NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and 61 for potable water and USP Class VI testing and endotoxin testing. Next, the water enters the Bodyguard tank which also has two types of filtration:
Prolonged Contact Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) removes or reduces chemical contaminants like Chlorine, Pesticides, THM, TCE, PCB, pharmaceuticals, herbicides, VOCs, industrial solvents, and hundreds of other contaminants.
Prolonged Contact Coconut Shell CATALYTIC Granular Activated Carbon (CGAC) also removes the above contaminants, as well as chloramine which cannot be removed with GAC carbon alone. Many cities are using chloramine and if your city doesn't, it likely will because it is cheaper.
Interceptor Filter – The Interceptor uses the same Double O-Ring Technology to assure 100% filtration with no "by-pass". It has a 5-micron outer wrap, but inside the filter is another layer of pleated material manufactured of Nano Fibers that have a Zeta potential of 51 millivolts. Many contaminants are actually "magnetically" removed from the water supply and "secured" in the Charged Filter. This is a sub-micron filter that has the ability to remove the following:
• Sand
• Silt
• Sediment
• Chromium 6
• Bacteria
• Cysts
• Lead
• Turbidity
… and many other contaminants
How Long Do The Filters Last?
The Interceptor Filter is engineered to be changed once a year. In extreme cases, it may last less than that depending upon your contaminant level. The carbon in the BodyGuard Filter can last several hundred thousand gallons to several million gallons. It all depends upon the level of contaminants. Some companies say theirs will last 12 years or millions of gallons. We recommend changing it every 5 years.

"The Bodyguard Plus seems well designed and well built. The written instructions are good, but could be better. The video set up was very helpful. Tech support was also very helpful during the installation process. I'm dealing with a strange contamination issue with my well water that extensive lab testing has not identified. The Bodyguard Plus was recommended as a pre-treatment for a Whole House Defender System. Unfortunately, using the Bodyguard Plus alone did not improve my water quality. Theoretically, I was told it would make a difference, but in practicality, it has not."

"I can't rate the filter yet because plumbers here was more money to install it than the damn thing costs! US Water will offer ZERO help with the install. The install cost was shocking given that my water line is in the garage and has wide open accessibility. This is a disclosure that these people should make to customers, or they need to align with plumbers to do the installs. Had I known the "true" cost of this project, I never would have both this paperweight."
