Traditional tank-type water heater protector for water heaters 30 to 80 gallons. The Limeblaster is designed for tank-style water heaters and actually seals the inside plumbing surfaces of the water heater against the hardness scale. It is unique in that it does not break down under higher temperatures.

This Limeblaster model is engineered to prevent scale formation standard tank-type water heaters. There is no system that can prevent scale inside your tank-type water heater as well as the Limeblaster

The Limeblaster totally prevents limescale inside your tank-style water heater, up to 80 gallons in size. The limeblaster technology effectively "seals" the plumbing surfaces so that calcium and magnesium (often called limescale) cannot stick. Additionally, the Limeblaster water treatment method is environmentally friendly, uses no electricity, and is 100% safe for drinking water.

Limeblaster Benefits

  • Completely safe for drinking water
  • Easy to fit and low maintenance
  • No electricity needed - No wastewater
  • Long life cartridges typically lasts 6 to 12 months
  • Extends the life of appliances: dishwasher, washing machine, water heater, faucets, etc.
  • Saves up to 40% on energy by reducing cost of energy bills
  • Low purchasing and maintenance costs, pays for itself within one year
  • One-Year Money Back Guarantee
  • Includes housing, filter cartridge, mounting bracket, screws, and wrench

How It Works

The US Water Systems Limeblaster system uses a unique and patented dosing system that adds a small amount of siliphos (a food-grade material to the water, effectively "sealing" Calcium and Magnesium from sticking to any surface or pipes inside your water heater. Silcopolyphosphate is a "food grade" product and is safe for human consumption according to the WHO and FAO recommendations. It meets all FDA requirements for being "food grade". Cities have used it for years on a smaller scale - it is completely safe.

The Truth About Lime Scale

Limescale is formed when cold water is heated in a water heater, boiler or tea kettle. In the process of heating water, such as in a water heater, calcium carbonate precipitates and forms limescale. We recommend installing the US Water Systems Limeblaster on just the line to the water heater as the limescale does not form inside cold water pipes. About half the water used in a home is hot water, so the US Water Limeblaster cartridge lasts about twice as long as when it is on both the hot and cold supply.

Maintenance

The Limeblaster Scale Prevention Cartridge is a slow-dissolving, slow-release siliphos that is rated to last at least 100,000 gallons. This can vary based on your water hardness and usage. In some cases, it can last six months, and in others, it might last one year.

Hope this works

"I think with a product like this only time will tell the story as to how well it worked. The existing conventional hot water tank was very old and full of shall we say “guck”. The tank was replaced with a tankless water heater which I understand are more prone to getting clogged with deposits. The plumber did verify with the manufacturer that my US Water filtering system was acceptable for use with the tankless water heater. So I guess time will tell the story!"

Does not work

"I installed this ahead of my water heater to help prevent scaling out of calcium in the tank. I installed a new tank 24 months ago, cleaned the tank out last year and immediately installed this. I just flushed the tank out after 12 months and didn't notice any reduction in calcium scale buildup. Even if the chemistry is accurate, the design of the unit makes it useless. The filter element has the solid tablets installed inside the filter with a screen cap on top so they don't flow out. The tablets sit at the bottom of the filter and make very little contact with the bulk of the water flowing through the unit. In addition, right after I installed the unit I had issues with leaks and reached out to customer service and got zero response. Would not buy again and would not recommend. I'm a licensed civil engineer that designs municipal water treatment systems."
