1" SMART COMMERCIAL WATER SOFTENING System
Is the Matrixx Drop 1" Water Softener a Residential or Commercial Water Softener? In truth, it's both. Each Matrixx Drop Control Valve will flow up to 25 gpm and you can install up to twelve (12) tanks in parallel flow, however for the purpose of standard configuration we provide options from one tank to five tanks.
This system is ideal for larger custom homes, estate homes, restaurants, small car washes, restaurants, small manufacturing applications, and a variety of other commercial applications.

How Drop Technology Works
The DROP Smart Hub integrates all parts of this commercial softener system, and controls up to 12 water softeners and 12 backwashing filters with just the one hub using low frequency radio waves. It can also operate on your home or business WIFI network.
The DROP automatically monitors your entire water system around the clock, and notifies you if you have a leak. It can even shut the water off to protect your property.
More Than A Water Softener A Total Water Management System for Any Business
There are two things that need to be articulated here:
1. This is a water softener, but it is a whole lot more than that.
2. It will cost less to purchase and operate than any comparable system.
Single-Tank or Multiplex System
• The single tank water softener comes with a Bypassing Piston. That simply means that you will have soft water, except during regeneration, in which case the bypassing piston delivers unsoftened water during that interval
• The multiplexing water softeners come with a non-bypassing system. That means that you will have soft water 100% of the time, even during intervals when softeners are regenerating
• Each Drop Hub can control up to 12 water softeners, 12 backwashing filters and up to 24 other devices. We offer systems from single tank to 5 tanks multiplex, but can custom-engineer up to 12 softener tanks if needed
Leak Detection and Flood Prevention
It's a fact that you are seven or eight times more likely to have a floor or water damage in your business than you are to have it burglarized. Most businesses have security systems to prevent burglary but have nothing to prevent floods or water damage. The Matrixx Drop changes all of that with it's Dual Leak Detector: (1) It senses unusual flow rates and alerts you to such on your smartphone. You can decide whether you want the system to shut down to prevent water damage; and (2) You can put up to 32 leak detectors in vital places throughout your plant or business. When they sense wetness, they also notify you and shut off the water. You can decide what happens at that point.
Disruptive Technology
The 1" Matrixx Drop Commercial Water Softener System operates in conjunction with your WiFi System and is fully programmed by an App on your Smartphone,
Each tank and tank size has a peak flow of 25 GPM. So, if you need 70 GPM Peak Flow, you would utilize three tanks. Why three (instead of two)? Each tank monitors flow and water usage. When a tank is exhausted (time to regenerate), it immediately goes off-line and regenerates. Its no-hard water bypass prevents untreated water from entering your site, and its built-in lock-out assures that only one tank can regenerate at a time.
This design assures you that the system can accommodate fluctuations in demand without bleeding any hard water to service while conserving salt and water.
In periods of low flow, the Drop App automatically takes tanks offline, to prevent hardness bleed-through from "channeling of the resin." However, unlike most other systems, which always have one tank offline, the Drop system can have all tanks in service… except when one is regenerating, so that high flow rates are sustainable.
What Tank Size is Best?
The Matrixx Drop 1" System has a 13" x 54" Resin Tank. Each tank has 2.5 cu/ft of high capacity resin. Each tank is rated at 75,000 grains and will flow a maximum of 25 gpm. For the sake of comparison, let's assume that your water is 20 grains of hardness, here are your regeneration capacities:
Regardless of what your hardness is, you simply divide the grain capacity of the unit by the hardness to find the total number of gallons you will get between regenerations. The 6 or 8 pound economy settings are typically used in many applications such as hotels, restaurants, and some manufacturing. However, for very soft water, you may want to use the 10 pound salt setting and for higher quality soft water, and the 15 pound setting is needed to eliminate virtually any hardness leakage such as in boiler feed water.
