  1. Pour entire packet of Sani System Water Softener Sanitizer into the brine well. If no brine well is present, pour entire packet into the bottom of the brine tank when salt is near empty
  2. Manually regenerate the softener according to the manufacturer's specification. Regenerate a second time if necessary

Salt-In-Head Water Softeners:

  1. Open the top and drain down the freeboard water to about 1/2" above the resin bed.
  2. Pour in packet of Sani-System Water Softener Sanitizer
  3. Close the softener and proceed with the normal downflow regeneration procedure.

OMG! Terrible packaging!

"Why are they not using a bottle or vial for a liquid? And why so wide? Haven't they seen eye drop liquid? They are round, thin, and long. Yours has so much stuck to the sides."

Water Softener Sanitizer

"I cleaned the brine tank and sanitized my water softener twice with Sani-System to eliminate the hydrogen sulfide in the softened water. This had minimal effect. The hydrogen sulfide in the water is not present when the softener is bypassed. I’m disappointed."

Q&A

I’m getting different instructions for use. You sent me .25 oz packets, but the pic on this page shows a .5 oz packet. One set of instructions says to pour the packet into the brine well and run the regen. Another set of instructions says to mix with 2 gallons of water for the .25 oz packet and 4 gallons for the .5 oz packet and pour into the brine well. Q 1. Should I use two of the .25 oz packets since I don’t have .5 oz? Q 2. Which is it, mix with water or pour packet into the brine well?
For the Sani-System water softener sanitizing packets, here’s what you should do: Packet Size: Since you received the .25 oz packets and the image shows a .5 oz packet, yes, you should use two of the .25 oz packets to equal the .5 oz as shown. This will ensure the correct concentration for effective sanitization. Application Method: The method can depend on the specific design of your water softener system. Generally, it’s simpler and still effective to pour the packet directly into the brine well during the regeneration cycle. However, mixing the sanitizer with water first (2 gallons of water for each .25 oz packet) can help ensure a more even distribution of the sanitizing agent within the system if you are experiencing issues with direct pouring. If you’re seeing different instructions, it might be due to updates in packaging or product instructions not yet reflected on all product visuals or older stock. For the most effective use, follow the instruction that matches the packet size you have, and consider the direct pour method for ease unless you find that it doesn’t distribute well in your system.
