Calcite is naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. Upon contact with acidic waters, calcite slowly dissolves and the calcium carbonate raises the pH, which reduces potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. It also raises the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level of the water and gives it a refreshing mineral flavor for those people that are used to drinking spring or mineral water.
Depending on the pH, water chemistry and service flow, the Calcite cartridge has to be periodically replenished as the Calcite is depleted. In most cases, it lasts up to 6 months.

Fantastic Solution to Raising the Conductivity for Electrode Humidifiers
"This cartridge raised my conductivity from 125 to 223 micro Siemens (at 70 degrees F). I did need to purge the cartridge an extra 10 minutes above the recommended 5 minutes to get the water to be visibly clear. Before using the cartridge, the electrode style humidifier took about 2 hours to produce steam. Now it takes about 10 minutes. It was so easy to install. I needed only $6 worth of plastic, push-to-connect fittings to connect the cartridge to my feed water source and to the inlet water valve on the humidifier. It came with about 10 feet of black tubing, which was plenty for my application. Great product!!"
Remineralization filter
"I was looking forward to this filter due to its size. The water flow out of my RO system could be improved ,compared to the smaller remineralizing filter. Water flow was noticeably better, but the water tasted poor. After install I flushed for 10 minutes, and then the water tasted good. A couple hrs later I tried it, and it had the same plastic/ chemical flavor. I flushed it again. After a couple hrs, I tried it again, and it was no good. If I would run a glass or two out before drinking, the water was barely ok. When it sits overnight, I have to flush it for a few minutes. I tried using this system for three days, without getting better. I put my old remineralization filter on ,and the water tastes great. I'm concluding that the water sits in that large filter holder, and absorbs something from the filter or housing. I live in Wisconsin, the water coming in is a ph7. Regardless, no one would drink the water, so I removed the US Water kit Tom Mix"
Doesn’t work
"I switched to this filter and immediately my water pressure dropped, almost to a drip, even with a full holding tank. Spoke with customer support and they said they would look into this for a resolution but they never called back."
