The Limeblaster Foodservice Replacement Cartridge prevents scale formation in any water using appliance, water heating device or downstream equipment, to improve efficiency and prolong the life.
The Limeblaster media prevents scale by transforming dissolved hardness minerals into harmless, inactive microscopic crystal particles. These crystals stay suspended in the water and are passed to drain. The filters require no maintenance, no backwashing and no salt. Typical hardness problems, especially build-up of scale in heating elements, pipes, water heaters, boilers and on fixtures are no longer a concern. In fact, it also helps dissolve existing scale.
This filter cartridge will work in any big blue style filter housings.

"It seems like its works well but bc we have borderline unusable hard water it goes quick. No easy way to tell when needs changed except opening the sump. We have no space for water softener and you dont sell a refillable version. Our end plugs came cracked but still usable so only 3 stars."

"I installed the Big Blue filter housing for this LimeBlaster filter after the water softener only being hopeful that I could lessen my hard water problems. 6 weeks in and I am impressed! We taste nothing different. I used to put a tablespoon of tap water onto a clear glass plate and when it evaporated there would be white ring left behind. Now nothing but a clean plate! Time in use is why I rated it at a 4. I am trying to find a method to determine when the filter needs changing. You can hear several balls inside the filter and I assume they dissolve over time/flow."
