US Water 6-Stage 50 to 150 GPD Reverse Osmosis & Deionization System

Some applications allow for reverse osmosis which removes 90% to 95% of the total dissolved solids. Other applications require deionized (DI) water which has all the minerals removed. If you require DI water, then you should use reverse osmosis (RO) as the primary demineralization method and use DI as the secondary demineralization method. Why use both processes and not just DI? The answer is very simple: It costs about 300% more to demineralize water with deionization than with reverse osmosis. So the smart money is to take out 90% to 95% of the total dissolved solids with the RO and then "polish" it with the DI cartridges - the cost per gallon is dramatically less.

Sales agent was very helpful

"Sales agent was very helpful in assiting us to find the right system to meet our needs. Install was easy, but we did have a few questions which US Water Systems staff were happy to help with. Customer Service was excellent!"

Sheena L. (5/5)

ro system

"easy install. high quality materials."

Darren T. (5/5)

Relatively simple to assemble and

"Relatively simple to assemble and it's producing DI water at <1 uS/cm."

Kenneth B. (5/5)

Great system, good price and on time

"I received my 150gpd rodi system in great shape, including tubing, fittings, and cartridges and in timely fashion. I have assembled it and am very happy. The instructions could be a little more descriptive regarding lines, etc., but it is easy enough to figure out."

Q&A

What is the purity in terms of restivity (MOhm) for this unit?
Resistivity will be greater than 1 meg ohm.
Would this be appropriate for a high school Science Lab that is completing AP and Honors level experiments?
For experiments requiring water that is free from most impurities, including dissolved minerals, bacteria, and chemical contaminants, this system would be highly appropriate. It can effectively remove a wide range of contaminants, ensuring that the water does not interfere with experimental results. The adjustable output from 50 to 150 gallons per day also allows for flexibility based on the lab’s usage needs. In lab standards language, this would fall in ASTM Type 2 whereas quality is greater than 1 megohm. However, it's important to consider the specific standards of water purity required for your experiments. For some high-level AP or Honors experiments, ultrapure water might be necessary, which could require additional purification stages beyond what a standard RO/DI system provides. Conversely, for experiments where extreme purity is not crucial, this system might exceed your needs, potentially leading to unnecessary expense.
Is this system capable of delivering Lab Type 2 waer?
No, for Lab Type 2 water you would need something like this: https://uswatersystems.com/products/raptor-laboratory-water-ro-di-system-up-to-70-liters-per-hour
