US Water Calcite Cartridge to Re-Mineralize Reverse Osmosis Water and Raise pH - 2.5” x 10

The US Water re-mineralization cartridge dissolves calcium carbonate into the water, which adds essential minerals for good taste and health and neutralizes the pH. This filter generally increases to pH to above 8.5 to 9.5 with prolonged contact right after the reverse osmosis membrane.

  • Made in USA
  • Typically needs replaced every six months (depending upon water usage)

Best way to keep your

"Best way to keep your minerals in the first place instead of drinking dilapidated city water that has no minerals and lots of chemicals. Necessity when using filters that remove chemicals because those also remove minerals in the process."

Misleading - This is Calcor, Not Calcite

"I had ordered 2 of these filters and they both clearly said calcor on the labels. Calcor is a mix of calcium carbonate (calcite) and magnesium oxide. This will raise the pH higher than pure calcium carbonate (calcite). I was on the phone with US Water tech and customer service for a very long time and they didn't seem to grasp how wrong it is to advertise one chemical and ship another. I tried using this as a post RO remineralization element to raise my pH. My RO water pH is 6. 3. With this filter my pH was up to 11. 0. I flushed the filter with > 10 gallons of water before the final pH measurement. I work in industrial water treatment and I tested this myself with a Myron L 6P handheld pH/conductivity tester that I calibrated that day with fresh buffers from an industrial water treatment lab. So if you want a filter element that will greatly increase your water pH, this is the one for you. If you really want a calcium carbonate (calcite) remineralization filter, US Water does not sell one. I ordered a pure calcium carbonate filter from Apec water to try."

Remineralization cartridge that works

"Fast shipping and great product. I bought it to raise PH, and its working as advertised."

Shawn L. (5/5)

Gives water some character

"I used to live in an area where city water came from the Great Lakes. I used a whole house filtration and carbon treatment system on it. I loved the taste of that water. I have since moved to an inland area where I now have a well. The well water even with a water conditioner is not all that good. I installed a 5 stage RO unit and the water tasted bland. Installing this remineralization cartridge brought my water back to my expectations of treat tasting water."

minerals

"I wish it added more minerals for my humidifier. But it works has intended."

George H. (4/5)

Necessary component for s RO system.

"Without one of these cartridges, your water is void of necessary minerals your body needs."

Joseph W. (5/5)

Perfect fit

"Very easy to install and enhanced the flavor as I hoped."

Jeff M. (5/5)

Misleading

"Product is actually calcor. Not calcite as described. Calcor has a tendency to cake and needs to be back flushed occasionally. Will see how well these do.."

Lori V. (4/5)

Works well

"This item works well"

dave

"I have ran several gallons of water threw it and I still have a bitter taste. The last one I had I also had to run several gallons of water threw the remineralization filter before it started tasting good, but after if starts tasting good I take the water to work and test it periodically and it will last me and my wife about 3 years before it starts to test bad. I try to change the other RO filters yearly."

Q&A

Is this cartridge NSF 61 certified? Do you have a lab report? I want to verify it’s not adding/leaching any impurities in the water.
The cartridge itself is not NSF rated/certified. However, the calcite media used inside the cartridge is NSF certified. Since this is a sacrificial remineralization cartridge, its purpose is to dissolve a small amount of calcite into the water to help raise pH and add back mineral content. We do not have a separate lab leachables report for the finished cartridge, so we would not represent the cartridge itself as NSF 61 certified.
Hey there, do you have a chart of how much ppm is remineralized based on different flow rates? I have a whole-house RO system that can draw anywhere from 0.2 gpm to 3 gpm depending on the faucet in use. Looking to get the pH above 7 at any flow rate and inject about 50 ppm of minerals at the slower draw rates (which are the ones used for drinking).
Flow Rate Added ppm CaCO3 Finished PH 0.20 50 ppm 8.1-8.3 0.50 30 ppm 7.6-7.8 1.0 18 ppm 7.3-7.4 2.0 10 ppm 7.1-7.2 3.0 <7 ppm 7.0 Assumes RO permeate pH ≈ 5.8 – 6.2, normal CO₂ content, 70 °F. Real-world numbers vary with temperature, CO₂, and incoming TDS.
Do you sell a 20" Calcite cartridge,?
Yes - here is link: https://uswatersystems.com/products/us-water-calcite-replacement-cartridge-2-5-x-20-uswf-2520-ph?_pos=16&_sid=03c6c68b3&_ss=r
1. What are the connections/adapters to use with this filter? 2. Does this filter go before or after the final polishing stage carbon filter? Example: Membrane>Mineral filter>Polishing carbon filter>Faucet OR Membrane>Polishing carbon filter>Mineral filter>Faucet
The US Water Calcite Remineralization Cartridge fits standard residential and commercial housings with connections for 2.5" x 9.75" cartridges. It should come ready to install in most standard filter housings without needing additional adapters. The remineralization cartridge is typically used after the RO membrane and before the final polishing stage with a carbon filter. The usual setup in RO systems that include a remineralization stage would be: Membrane > Remineralization Cartridge (Calcite filter) > Polishing Carbon Filter > Faucet. This ensures that the water is remineralized before being polished for taste and odor removal.
