US Water brings the latest in “Disruptive Technology” with our new US Water Disruptor Filter for Problem Water Applications, such as Tannin, Heavy Metals, Organics, Silica and fine Collodial Particles

Charged Zeta Filtration or CZF is manufactured with Nano Alumina Fibers that have a Zeta potential of 51 millivolts. Our US Water CMF Cartridge eliminates staining and scaling, removes color and turbidity, tastes and odors and eliminates bio-fouling with organics. A CMF cartridge removes tannin, heavy metals, organics, silica and fine colloidal particles with its strong Zeta Potential. It flows up to 20 GPM. Unlike mechanical filters which rely on “pore size” the Charged Membrane Technology literally “secures” the contaminant. It is “absorbed” in a very real way. The filters have a long life and are easily replaceable.

The US Water CZF high capacity series cartridges with a 7 micron mean pore size to allow the filter to function as a depth cartridge with low pressure drop. Its Electro-adsorptive positive charge retains these problem water contaminants within the media structure via adsorption + mechanical filtration. It has a very low pressure drop and high end of life pressure differential to make for long life of the cartridges for these applications.

These cartridges are not designed for applications to meet disease causing organisms. If you want to remove bacteria and other disease-causing micro-organisms you must use our Disruptor System, because it has a mean pore size of 1.5 microns and the cartridge has 222 double o-ring seal for a positive barrier for disease causing organisms for your drinking water & such.

Features

  • Filter conforms to NSF/ANSI 61 Certified by WQA
  • Low pressure drop - typically < 3 PSID (clean)
  • Agion® Silver Zeolite Technology protects filter and reduces tastes and odors from microbes
  • The CZF media is manufactured from a naturally occurring element called boehmite, which has no known Health Side Effects. In fact, boehmite has long been used as an additive to food products and digestive analgesics. Additionally, it has passed testing for NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and 61 for potable water and USP Class VI testing.
  • Broad pH Range - 5-9

Electroabsorbative Technology for Water Purification

CZF media is engineered this 51 millivolt charge cover the entire volume and depth of the media. A CZF filter accomplished submicron filtration with a “charge” rather than “pore size” filtration, which allows for virtually zero pressure drop and high flow rates. If you compare the Pulsar CZF to “ultrafiltration” membranes, you will find dramatically higher flow rates with less pressure drop.

Tannin Removal

Tannins are notoriously difficult to remove from water. Ion-exchange is a popular way and has been successfully utilized in thousands of cases, but due to high initial costs many consumers are looking for a more economical alternative. The US Water Charged Zeta Filtration or CZF System works where many others fail.

Read This Before You Buy This Product:

The Disruptor electro-adsorptive filter media takes out a very wide spectrum of contaminants, including bacteria, virus, cysts and Chromium 6. However, iron, sulfur and manganese must be removed ahead of it.

This system’s performance is dependent upon incoming water quality and factors such as iron, sulfur, manganese, sediment and other particulates need to be addressed ahead of the US Water Disruptor Filter.

Life expectancy of the filter varies with the water supply, but many users experience filter change intervals of between six months to one-year when coupled with proper pre-treatment. It is an excellent idea to have a 1 Micron Filter ahead of the US Water Disruptor filter.

In a sense, it is like ultraviolet or UV disinfection in that the water needs to be free of sediment, silt, algae, sand, iron, sulfur and manganese. There are hundreds of organics in a water supply that can impact its performance, so there are no guarantees on life expectancy, although in most cases, they do last 6 months to a year.

Tannins are somewhat problematic. They are removed in over 75% of the cases, but occasionally, they are impossible to remove, due to the nature of the tannin itself or due to other competing contaminants. If the tannin is not removed by the Disrupter, then the only choice is a Matrixx Tannin Water Filter that uses sodium chloride as a regenerant. The filter has a one-year warranty for structural integrity and manufacturing defects, but is not warranted against plugging and/or failing to remove tannin. You will still use the housing as a pre-filter if you do not use the Disrupter.

Many times, Doctors prescribe medication that works for most people, but not everyone. When he changes the prescription and prescribes another, he doesn’t refund the cost of your former prescription. The Disruptor is an amazing, disruptive technology that removes more contaminants than any other filter. In some cases, we replace the Disruptor cartridge with the Magna Cartridge if the Disruptor plugs too quickly. The Magna Cartridge is available in 20, 5, 1 and .5 micron sizes. If you are unsure how to apply the Disruptor, please contact one of our Certified Water Specialists at 800-608-8792 before purchasing it.

Working good. Removed tannin staining

"Working good. Removed tannin staining from water. used after manganese dioxide filter and softner"

JEFF A. (5/5)

Seems to work. Still new.

"I had iron bacteria and sulfur smell. I installed a hydrogen peroxide system and a large catalytic carbon filter. Even though test showed I solved my iron problem, I still had some color coming though. This disruptor filter seems to have solved that."

David B. (4/5)

Installed a pre-filter and a

"Installed a pre-filter and a disrupter on our house inlet from the 450 foot well. I waited too long before cartridge replacement and noticed quite a flow drop. Our well water is very clear but there are critters. Before replacing the filter canisters, I quick filled a 5 gallon bucket rinsing out the supply line residue. All said, the event took about a half hour and the bucket of crud told me it was well worth it."

Frederick O. (5/5)

Does what it says at a high cost

"The filter does remove the tannins, however, my flow went from 11 gpm to about 2gpm. I had all the right pre filtration and not particularly high tannins as my water is only a slight yellow tint. So I had to remove the filter after just 2 days. That being said customer service was great as they told me they would refund me for the filter. All and all I wouldn't waste my money on this again but will definitely use US water for my other filtration needs."

Michael K. (2/5)

highly over rated

"your description on your web site over rates the performance of the disruptor filter. i am totally amazed that it did not make a difference for more than 48 hrs. my use of just a basic filter gave me equal results. i will not use nor recommend to anyone to use this product ever!!!!"

Disruptor filter for Tannin Removal

"I was excited about trying this filter for well water tannin removal but unfortunately it did not work for us."

Scott D. (1/5)

Works amazing!

"This is the only filter i have found to remove the tannin. I really wish the price was not so high even 20$ lower would be great!"

Jon R. (5/5)

Filter Works as Promised

"I have a well with Iron and Tannin in the water. There is a sediment filter, an Iron filter and a water softener removing most of the iron in the water. Water was still 'brown' looking after all that filtering. Tried this US Water Systems filter as a last resort and was pleasantly surprised with clear water ! Have ordered 3 more filters to have on hand (from the write-ups, it should be enough for a 2 year supply). Very happy with this filter. It really removed the tannin from my water !"

Paul (5/5)

Don't trust that filter will work for you.

"Filter did NOT work at all, despite our confidence from the representations made by the company. We feel like we "threw" $125 out the window."

Tanin Problem (Humic Acid)

"I live in the mountains of Colorado. I have a high producing water well (10 GPM) but had a slight tannin problem. The water was just "tinged" with the "tea" color and had started making rings in the toilet and anything porcelain. I tried two other "tannin filters" and they did not work. I put the Disrupter in yesterday and the water was clear (immediately) and the water looked clear! I couldn't believe it! I wonder now, how long will it last? I know these work if you have minimal tannin problems in your well water. I didn't want to spend $1800 on an ion exchange system, plus taking up the room and salt, etc. This was a great relief to have a filter actually remove tannins!"
