"Since it is a replacement I had to dispose of the old one and since it contains Mercury it cannot go out with household trash. This information is included with the lamp but exactly where to dispose of the lamp is not. A website is included but it does not say precisely who or where accepts these lamps for disposal or recycling. I found that a nearby Batteries Plus store would recycle the lamp for a fee of $0. 81. Home Depot, Lowes and other stores that accept batteries and CFL bulbs would not take this lamp due to its size. If US Water Systems included a list of stores that would recycle these lamps or if they would accept the return of the lamp, that would be helpful and responsible of them. The lamp works and the shipping was fast."
