When it comes to rainwater harvesting, ensuring the highest purity standards is essential. The Pulsar Max Plus Ultraviolet Disinfection System is a top recommended solution for rainwater treatment, delivering unmatched peace of mind and premium-quality water directly to every tap in your home. With the Pulsar Ultraviolet MAX Plus System you can enjoy bacteria-free clear, clean great-tasting water with chemicals, tastes and odors removed from every tap in your home.

The Pulsar Ultraviolet Max System combines four (4) technologies to deliver exceptional purity and peace of mind:

 • Step-Down Micron Filtration;
 • Granular Activated Carbon Filtration and Absorption;
 • Charged Zeta Filtration; and
 • Ultraviolet Disinfection or UV.

5-Stages of Protection

 • Stage 1: 5 Micron Magna Pre-Filter The first stage traps all particles above 5 microns, which is typically 70-80% of the solids, silt, sand and sediment.
 • Stage 2: Radial Flow Carbon Filter - The second stage consists of a coconut shell granular activated carbon which removes, chemical, taste, odors and chlorine.
 • Stage 3: 1 Micron Magna Pre-Filter Next, the second stage steps-down to 1 micron which is the size of Giardia and Cryptosporidium Cysts. At this juncture, nearly 100% of the solids have been removed.
 • Stage 4: Interceptor Sub-Micron Filter Now, its time to go through the Disrupter media with a Zeta potential of 51 millivolts. Many contaminants are actually "magnetically" removed from the water supply and "secured" in the Charged Filter. It stops things like bacteria, lead, tannin and Chromium 6.
 • Stage 5: Pulsar Ultraviolet Disinfection Chamber The Pulsar UV is the most advanced ultraviolet system on the market today. It assures 100% destruction of bacteria, parasites, virus and cysts when preceded by the Interceptor cartridge. Solid-state computerized system tells you exactly when to perform maintenance.

Features and Benefits

 • Simple, Modular and Economical - This system is easy to install, maintain and service. It simply plugs into a standard 110 Volt electrical outlet and has 1 threaded inlet and outlet. No more filling up drinking water just from the fridge.

"Recently moved from a 2500GA holding tank for my well to a 25k tank for the well and rain water. I installed the system pre - water softener (10 yr old fleck 7000) and used the opportunity to take the softener apart, clean it and install new substrate. The install was straight forward and only needed to contact support once on the Pulsar UV controller which was straightened out quickly. Couldn’t be happier and seems no drop in water pressure."

Excellent System

"So glad to have pure water throughout our house after finding out our well water was contaminated with bacteria. We are relieved to have pure water. My husband was able to install the system."

"Have run about 500 gal through works awesome so far"

Additional filter stickers

"Great water filtration system. But when a consumer chooses to reverse the filter direction the filter part number stickers on the housing frame are still naked in the opposite direction. I would have included a second set of stickers to apply over the originals, or just send the original stickers with the assembly so that the consumer could apply them to the frame based on their setup. I’m sure this would not be very expensive for US Water Systems to make the change. The latter option wouldn’t cost them a dime."

LOVE IT!!

"Because of the way my plumbing is set up coming into the house I opted to have a licensed plumber install it. It was pretty quick. We now have a whole house filtration system and LOVE IT!!"

Our new construction is not

"Our new construction is not at the point where we can install unit."

Works impeccably well !!

"We use this system to process captured rainwater here in arid Arizona. Admittedly, there are no trees above our roof to complicate the matter, but the test results of the 2 samples we provided our State-Certified testing lab were mind-blowing: Nitrate = .40 out of a Max of 10; Total Coliform = ABSENT; Total dissolved solids = 125 (out of a max of 500); Hardness = 115 (6.7 grains per gallon, i.e. moderately soft water); and Plate count <1 (out of a max of 500)...meaning that after 48 hours of trying to incubate, almost nothing was found. The system is easy to install, runs superbly well, treats our water with about 25 psi constant flow, and exceeds our hopes and expectations! And Bill Niemann (of your Staff) was super-helpful anytime we called with a question, too! RECOMMEND completely !!!!!"

Easy install, just needs one issue resolved.

"This system is an easy installation even if you are a novice plumber like myself. It seems to be working very well and my wife says she tastes and smells a difference in our water for the better. No question the components are very good quality and it’s all very sturdy and well made. My only issue was on the outlet side of the filter where you install the supplied steel flexible pipe. This fitting leaked no matter how much Teflon tape I applied. US water systems tech line did answer and try to assist me in a repair but in the end I used my own repair which was the installation of an O-ring, problem solved. The customer service was there and I give them credit for that, overall I’m a very happy customer so far with my new system, hopefully it will hold up, it seems built to do so."

Q&A

how to properly install a UV light on the filter system. Where exactly does it go
The UV light should go at the end of the treatment line, after the water has already gone through the prefiltration. On this system, the water is treated in this order: 5-micron sediment filter → carbon filter → 1-micron filter → sub-micron interceptor filter → UV chamber last. That placement is important because UV works best after sediment and other contaminants have already been removed.
Does this also soften the water? Or do you have to buy a saltless water system with this
No, this system does not soften water. The Pulsar Max Plus is a whole-house filtration and UV disinfection system designed to remove sediment, tastes, odors, chlorine, certain contaminants, and provide protection against bacteria, viruses, parasites, and cysts. Its stages include sediment filtration, carbon filtration, sub-micron charged filtration, and UV disinfection. To soften water, you would need a separate water softener. A true softener removes hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are what cause scale buildup and hard water problems. A filtration/UV system like this improves water quality and disinfection, but it does not remove hardness. If hard water is your concern, this system would typically be paired with either a salt-based water softener for true softening or a salt-free conditioner for scale control only.
Can this product be used for well water containing lead and iron?
You would need additional treatment for lead and iron. Iron requires oxidation and filtration while lead requires ion exchange, reverse osmosis, or KDF media.
Do you have water softening in your system?
Yes. We offer a full line of both residential and commercial water softeners. Residential: https://uswatersystems.com/collections/for-home-city-water-whole-house-whole-house-water-softeners Commercial: https://uswatersystems.com/collections/for-business-commercial-water-softeners
What is the range of operating temperatures for this unit? We're looking to install this inside of a greenhouse that can reach ~115f in the summer. Also for low pH water (5.4 in our case), would the uv filtering pose a challenge before raising the pH closer to neutral?
In this set-up, the low pH would not effect the UV, below are Water Quality Parameters for the UV. They system has max water temp of 105 F, its likely not that high but there is a Temperature Relief Valve (TRV) that could be added to the UV if need be. Hardness: <7 gpg (120 mg/L) – if hardness level is 7 gpg or slightly below the quartz sleeve must be cleaned periodically in order to ensure efficient UV penetration; if above the water must be softened. Iron (Fe): <0.3 ppm (0.3 mg/L) Manganese (Mn): <0.05 ppm (0.05 mg/L) Turbidity: < 1 NTU Tannins (organics): <0.1 ppm (0.1 mg/L) UVT (transmittance): >85% (Please contact LUMINOR if water has a UVT that is less than 80% for pre-treatment recommendations) You can have your water tested at a private analytical laboratory or by your local dealer
