"My system was 7 years old when it started to leak. First just a drop or two overnight. Within a few weeks it became a tablespoon overnight. Then after a few more weeks, several tablespoons within a few hours. The leak was from a crack on the inside of the cap of the housing. The crack developed where the outlet fitting screws into the housing, along the ‘weld line’. You can’t buy just the caps, so I bought 2 complete replacement housings. At any rate, the new housing has been redesigned to get rid of this weak spot along the inlet/outlet threads. The new ones perfectly replaced the old ones, even though the old ones were flat top and these are ridge top."

"One of our filter housings was leaking (even after replacing the 0-ring) so we replaced it and it's perfect now. :)"

"The original one of these housing had a design defect. If you screw in the screw that comes with it to attach the unit to the wall mount it will pierce the top of the unit and eventually start leaking."
