That may seem like an odd question, but it is one that you really have to consider. There are several water treatment companies that have popped up across the internet the past few years. These companies were started by slick marketing and business people who have taken an idea and parlayed it into big business. Most of this centers around "salt-free water softeners" which are close cousins to Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny in that they all are fictional. None of the sites that purport to "soften" the water without salt actually do that.

How do that get away with that? It's because people don't complain to their Attorneys General or the US Justice Department. It's a deception of monumental magnitude... and no one does anything about it. But, that's only part of the story. The other part is that these companies only have a few products which are (according to them) "The Solution to Your Water Problems." They hire slick marketing people and slick sales people, you know the type - they can sell icewater to Eskimos, and they do quite well, but do you want them treating your water? What do they really know about treating your water? It turns out, NOT MUCH! Look at their About Us Page. It always turns out you will not find out much, if anything. They use words like mission, development, innovative, environmental, integrity, commitment and lots of other "boilerplate." But who are they? You really don't know! If you look up who owns their website, it is usually "private." For all you know, they are a faceless, nameless, entity that exists to extract money from you under rather shady circumstances.
