We love our pets in the USA, and we aren't afraid to pamper them. The American Pet Products Association or APPA, have divulged that in 2019 $95.7 Billion (that is in real dollars) was spent on pet products in the USA. The breakdown of that money spent is as follows:

In the 2020 fiscal year, the amount is estimated to be nearly $100 Billion. That's a lot of money for doggie and cat treats and all that pet food. Yes, we love our pets! It is important to not overfeed your pet, so that it becomes obese. We understand that, but what about the water your dog or cat drinks?
There is a lot of information out there about pets drinking chlorinated water from a swimming pool, and the advice is generally not to let them drink too much. But what about drinking ordinary tap water? Well, in humans, the link between many cancers and chlorine has been known for years. We know that while chlorine is necessary to disinfect water and prevent diseases like cholera and typhoid, it also reacts with certain organics in the water and creates Trihalomethanes (THM's), which are known carcinogens.
Often called Disinfection By-Products (DBP), THM's and other such compounds can cause cancer maybe not just drinking it for a few days, but with repeated exposure. Millions of Americans opt to remove these DBP's from the water with the usage of a reverse osmosis system. Reverse Osmosis (RO) also removes a plethora of other contaminants and chemicals.
If you have a reverse osmosis system, then be sure and share it with your dog or cat. If you don't have one, then buy one for your pet, and maybe he will share it with you. Pets will drink more water when it tastes better and has fewer contaminants. So will humans. Give your pet the gift of clean, pure water - they will love you for it, and most likely, they will be healthier and in your life for a long time.
By the way, the little Cane Corso Puppy above has drunk nothing but reverse osmosis water all his life, and he is just fine. As a matter of fact, that picture was taken three and a half years ago.
